Do Not Call My Kid Fat

在美國，很多父母不希望醫生說自己的孩子「過胖」。這些父母希望醫生能避免使用以下詞彙：
(extremely) obese, fat, chubby


他們希望醫生能夠使用以下的詞彙：
high BMI (body-mass index), unhealthy weight


雖然意思是差不多沒錯，但是前面的詞彙聽起來帶有責難(blaming, accusatory)的意味。

現在的醫生也很難為：
Physicians should kick off the conversation by saying, I'd like to have a conversation about your weight. Are there specific terms you'd like me to use?
