今天離開教室前，有一個同學請我吃棒棒糖，有梅心而旁邊一圈麥芽糖的那種。只是這位同學補充說，是因為她不想吃才拿來請我吃的。喜歡老師就直說無妨啊，老師會很高興的喔。
就算真的是因為不想吃才拿來請老師吃的話，我也不會難過的，因為我一直以來活在自己的世界裡，我還是覺得你是真心想請我吃的。呵呵！

大家有感覺到地震嗎
今天下課後在跟一群學生聊天，可能是我太嗨了，有人提醒我才感覺到有地震。
最近有一大堆小地震，因為今年正是九二一大地震的十週年，很多人都開始感到害怕，擔心是否會有強烈地震。中央氣象局要大家別太擔心，一連串的小地震未必代表會有大地震發生。

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- A series of 20 earthquakes that hit Yilan County's Nanao area over a recent 14-hour period do not necessarily presage the advent of a major earthquake, a Central Weather Bureau official said Wednesday.
Hsiao Nai-chi, a division chief at the Central Weather Bureau's Seismology Center, was commenting on the 23 earthquakes that rocked the northeastern county and the two eastern counties of Hualien and Taitung between 4: 45 p.m. Tuesday and 6: 42 a.m. Wednesday, with 20 centered around Nanao Township.
"Only one of those quakes was a magnitude 5 on the open-ended Richter scale, and the remaining quakes were magnitude 4 or even less intense, " Hsiao said, adding that most of the tremors affected only limited areas.
Yilan and Hualien have traditionally been the areas most prone to seismic activity in Taiwan because of the movement and collisions of crustal plates, Hsiao said.
Speculation that a major earthquake may strike soon has arisen recently because of the higher-than-normal frequency of earthquakes around the island in recent days.
On Sunday alone, two medium-intensity earthquakes jolted Taiwan.
One of them, of magnitude 5.4, was centered in Mingchien Township in central Taiwan's Nantou County.
The other, a magnitude 5.5 quake, struck 15 kilometers northwest of the Yuli seismic station in Hualien County at a depth of 2.5 kilometers.
As this year marks the 10th anniversary of the deadly Sept. 21, 1999 earthquake, Sunday's earthquake in Nantou area further fueled misgivings among some local residents that Taiwan may have entered yet another seismic peak cycle.
The mountainous Nantou County took the brunt of the 921 earthquake, the worst natural disaster to hit Taiwan in the last century, with a death toll (死亡人數) of around 2,500.
Hsiao said, however, that speculation of a strong earthquake being imminent is groundless.
"As a matter of fact (事實上), the recent spate of earthquakes have allowed the normal release of gravitational energy, a trend that could theorectically help stem a devastating (毀滅性的) temblor, " Hsiao explained.
Practical observations also show that the number of tremors cannot be correlated (相關) to a major earthquake, he added.
According to (根據) Seismology Center statistics, Taiwan was hit by an average of 21,295 earthquakes annually between 1994 and 2008.
In the first half of this year, 8,918 earthquakes were recorded, Hsiao said, adding that the number did not exceed the normal average.

For instance, a magnitude 7.1 earthquake hit the Meishan area in 1906, just two years after the Douliou earthquake of a similar magnitude.
In 1935, a magnitude 7.1 earthquake struck the Hsinchu-Taichung area that was followed by a strong quake in Chungpu, Chiayi County in 1941, a Hsinhua earthquake in 1946 and a Chiayi-Tainan earthquake in 1964.
Taiwan was rocked by temblors of a magnitude 7 or above two times in the last decade of the 20th century, in 1996 and 1999. Another hit Taiwan in 2004, but only the 1999 quake took a heavy toll on human life and property as the other two struck at sea well off Taiwan's coast.

Love Life 珍愛生命
研究所最後一年學校有開健身課程，在寫論文之餘，參加游泳、體適能兩項課程，鍛鍊身體。
今天跟以前健身的伙伴見面，才知道當時教體適能課程的體育系學弟在課程完畢不久就因為憂鬱症離開這個世界。
對於我這種看起來營養不良、不愛運動的人來說，願意去參加體適能課程已是一件很難得的事。去上課之前我很擔心自己的體能太差、不會使用各項健身器材而被取笑，但這位體育系的學弟很有耐心指導每一個動作。我發現之前的擔心是多餘的，也願意多花一點時間運動。
有時候，這位學弟也會和我討論學習英文的方法，感覺他很上進。
學期末的時候，他告訴我們大家，他即將要前往香港當交換學生。我們所有人都很替他高興，當時互相留了msn，還說如果有機會的話，或許可以找個週末去香港玩，請他帶我們去走走。
我不知道一些問題是不是在當時就出現了，但至少我並沒有察覺到什麼異狀。
後來因為開始工作，並沒有機會成行。到了今天才聽說，原來在他去香港之前，就離開大家了。
聽到這個消息，覺得有點錯愕。這是我身邊第一次有朋友以這種方式離開這個世界。
以前在新聞上看到有人輕生，心裡都會覺得這個人怎麼會做這種傻事，帶著責備與不解的心態。
可是當真正有朋友發生同樣的事，才發現其實不忍心責備，反而是心疼，心疼他要自己面對難題，不知道該如何對大家說。
很多時候我們很難真正感同身受，因為問題並沒有發生在我們身上，能做的可能也有限。其實我們也沒有資格去苛責想不開的人。
雖然不是很熟的朋友，但至少曾接受他的幫忙，聽到這樣的消息，多少會覺得有點難過、有些無力感。
說了這麼多，只是希望每一個人都珍愛生命。如果你們有任何難題，不只是英文而已，如果你們覺得老師值得信賴，歡迎你們試著跟我說，我會認真傾聽，希望能提供一點協助。請不要先預設就算把問題說出來也不會有用。想想週遭美好的事物和愛我們的人。請替那些得了重症不得不離開這個世界的人好好活著。

大家今天有看到日蝕solar eclipse嗎
雖然我對天文並沒有特別的愛好，但我還是趕著熱潮，早起去看日蝕。
街上有很多人帶著有色眼鏡在觀看日蝕，我竟然忘了準備了！靈機一動，全罩式安全帽的面罩是黑色的喔，所以我是帶著安全帽看日蝕。坦白說，我的樣子看起來還蠻像笨蛋，呵呵。
這次的日蝕要好幾百年才會出現一次，是相當難得的機會。不過錯過的人似乎也不用太難過，好像每隔一陣子就會有幾百年才會出現一次的天文奇景。雖然錯過了一個，這輩子就沒機會了，但應該還有很多值得一看的天文奇景在我們有生之年等著我們。

The longest total solar eclipse of the century will occur today and people in Taiwan will be able to see between up to 68.6 percent and 86 percent of the eclipse of the sun depending on various locations on the island, according to the Astronomical Observatory under the Central Weather Bureau.
A solar eclipse occurs when the moon's orbit moves between the Earth and the sun so that the sun's disc is fully or partially covered temporarily.
The event will be visible in many parts of Asia, but the total eclipse will be seen only along a narrow corridor stretching from northern India, eastern Nepal, northern Bangladesh, Bhutan, the northern tip of Myanmar, central China and the Pacific Ocean, including the Ryukyu Islands (Okinawa), Marshall Islands and Kiribati.
The full eclipse will last for 6 minutes 39 seconds.
Taiwan, which is located very close to the corridor, will see a partial eclipse starting at 8:22 a.m., with the maximum eclipse expected to appear between 9:36 a.m. and 9:41 a.m. this morning.
Residents on the frontline island of Kinmen will catch the earliest glimpses of the eclipse starting at 8:18 a.m.
People in southern Tainan County will be the earliest on the island of Taiwan beginning at 8:22 a.m. The biggest glimpse of the eclipse of the sun at 86.8 percent will be experienced on the Fuguei Islet of Taoyuan County's Shihmen Township in northern Taiwan, and a 70 percent eclipse can be observed in central and southern Taiwan, the officials said.
In Taiwan's southern tip of Oluanbi in Pingtung County, viewers will see 68.6 percent eclipse of the sun.
In Taipei area, the partial eclipse will start at 8:23 a.m. and continue for two hours and 42 minutes until 11:05 a.m. with the maximum eclipse occurring at 9:40 a.m.
To mark the spectacular natural event, various organizations have long prepared for the arrival of this solar eclipse. Some have even dispatched teams to different cities in China.

孩子們啊你們在學校要乖一點
有一個國三的表妹，暑期下午要留校讀書，家長要到校輪值，因為阿姨沒空，這個工作就由我來做。
其實秩序大致上算是良好。不過有一個規定讓我覺得國中導師真的很辛苦。
中午的外送便當用兩條橡皮筋捆起來，全班有三十七位同學，老師說要回收七十四條橡皮筋，一條也不能少。
我當下的感覺是這位老師也太龜毛了吧，連這點小事都要管，但是不了解這個規定的理由。
我後來問了其他待過學校的老師，他們說橡皮筋其實是很討厭的東西，同學們下課會互相射橡皮筋，有可能會受傷。我這才了解了為什麼要有這種芝麻蒜皮的規定。
以前我的國中導師沒有一些特別奇怪的規定，看來我們班應該還算乖。
所以啊，同學們，拜託你們在學校裡乖一點好不好啊，不要老是害老師要提心吊膽，還要訂下一些奇怪的規定。你們一定也不希望老師管東管西的吧。
當然，到了補習班也要很乖喔！

基測考英聽 八字沒一撇
教育部昨天鄭重澄清，並未規畫國中基測加考英文聽力，更不可能如外傳在一百零一年實施，請學生及家長不必恐慌。
教育部中教司長蘇德祥說，國中基測在一百零一年時，將由兩次併為一次，但考科及難度都不會調整，仍維持「中度偏易」，而且「絕對不會加考英聽。」
負責基測出題的台師大心測中心主任宋曜廷表示，該中心近年來一直研發各項題型，如英聽、數學加考計算題等，但英聽不是有題目、錄音帶就可以，還要有相關考場設備配合，這也是研發雖久、但離付諸實行還有很大距離的原因。
宋曜廷說，如考英聽要採用附有耳機的視聽教室，這類教室根本不足；如要採用在一般教室播放錄音帶的方式，有些考場鄰近機場、醫院，會受到飛機起降、救護車鳴笛的干擾，只要一小段沒聽到，將招來很大抗議。前年全民英檢台北考區考聽力測驗時，就因打雷，遭考生抗議。
除了硬體設備，宋曜廷表示，未考英聽還有兩項考量：可能增加考生的升學壓力、及加深城鄉差距；目前基測英文成績已呈雙峰現象，如加考英聽，恐對鄉下孩子更不利。
宋曜廷表示，即使心測中心研發出英聽題型，也不會主動向基測諮詢委員會提案，要等教育部政策指示後，才會提案討論要不要實施。

大學入學考試中心今天表示，98學年度大學入學指定科目考試英文科作文「隨心所欲過一天」，考生可自由發揮創意，「具體寫出如何隨心所欲過一天」才能得高分。
大考中心上午公布98指考英文科閱卷非選擇題評分原則，今年指考英文科非選擇題考為中譯英2題及在沒有預算負擔前提下如何隨心所欲過一天。
英文科閱卷老師召集人、國立台灣師範大學英語系系主任陳秋蘭表示，英文中譯英的翻譯題句型不難，但「生態多樣」、「世界七大奇觀」等容易寫錯，不過要得分不難，不會要求精準詞彙，只要能確切形容即可。
她舉例，生態多樣性的正確英文詞彙是ecological diversity，但diverse ecology或diverse wildlife、diverse biology及 biological diversity，考量高中生語彙程度都可接受的，玉山譯為 Jade Mountain或羅馬拚音 Yu Shan都可以；七大奇觀只要寫出 the Seven Wonders of the World就可以。
作文「隨心所欲過一天」，陳秋蘭說，不少考生表示要買噴射機邀請名人來台灣作客，如邀美國職籃巨星麥可喬登(Michael Jordan)來台，並要向喬登學打籃球，作文中還特別陳述要學那幾個動作；有考生說考試壓力太大，只想放空一整天；還有考生想跟總統吃晚餐，陪同下鄉；也有考生想到孤兒院陪院童過一天。
陳秋蘭表示，雖然題幹已說明「不用擔心預算」，很多考生想要的隨心所欲過一天，其實花費都不大，但只要具體寫出如何過一天，說明理由、文章不要太短、文句流暢，都可以獲得不錯的分數。
不過，有考生寫要跟已過世的流行樂天王Michael Jackson或已死去的朋友過一天，陳秋蘭說，因為太超現實且難以達成，會酌予扣分；還有考生寫想跟發現H1N1新型流感的人見面學習，但整篇文章都在寫新型流感，並沒有說明如何過一天，文不對題，不但不會高分，還可能零分。

Something Interesting about a Classmate of Mine

May, a classmate of mine, enjoys singing. Two years ago, she did something fantastic I could never forget. One day, May told us that there would be a concert held by a “superstar” and asked us to wait at the main gate after school if we would like to go with her. We all knew that May would never miss a chance to show her talent for singing, so we stayed with her to show our spiritual support. May sang loudly right at the main gate. 九十八學年度指定科目考試英文科淺析
今年指考的配分做了一些改變：綜合測驗從原本佔20分，改為佔10分；閱讀測驗從原本佔22分，改為佔32分。換句話說，閱讀測驗的比重提高，佔了整份試卷的三分之一，是決勝的關鍵。
而今年閱讀測驗的題目也比去年冗長，也比去年困難，閱讀測驗較弱的學生會吃虧，甚至可能因為時間掌握不好，影響到非選擇題英文作文的表現。
就文章取材來看，生活化、多元化是近年來不變的趨勢。女性議題(兩篇)、購物狂、社區義工服務、非法下載、玉山角逐世界七大奇景等議題，都是最近日常生活中的熱門話題。教育部最近推動「有品運動」，算是出現在此份試卷中，像是志工服務、尊重著作權等。因此，多注意生活中的話題，多涉獵不同領域的文章，都是增進閱讀能力的好方法。
以下就各大題進行分析，並建議一些搶分的方法。
第壹部份：單一選擇題
一、詞彙
Level 3的詞彙有7個，Level 4有19個，Level 5有10個，Level 6有4個。
透過精確的分析後，可以發現，指考的詞彙選項大多落在Level 4和Level 5，這兩個程度的詞彙必須熟背。
二、綜合測驗
考的幾乎都是詞彙和片語。嚴格來說，文法只有一題whatever。花了很多時間鑽研文法的同學可能會很失望。
其實學測、指考的文法題都不算太難，只要把基本觀念弄懂即可，不必強記艱澀少用的句型。
三、文意選填
出現了兩個片語：make up for、turn to。選項中有動詞、名詞、形容詞，但沒有副詞的選項。這個大題與過往的考題相比，沒有大幅度的改變。
四、篇章結構
題幹是一篇以記敘為主的文章，按時間順序發展。
只要能掌握故事發展，應該不算太難。
五、閱讀測驗
題幹出現各種考法，像是考細節、考是非、考主旨、考推論、考作者目的、考段落大意、考劃線句意、考標題等。
並非所有題目都能直接從文章當中找到關鍵字，有些題目考的是整合資訊的能力，難度稍高。
對閱讀速度較慢的同學來說，會在這個大題吃虧。因此，一定要加快閱讀速度，才能提高指考分數。

一、中譯英
翻譯題出現了之前的時事，關於玉山角逐世界七大奇觀。
這兩個句子都不需要使用困難的句型，用國中時學到的句型就可以輕鬆解題。還是一句老話，不必鑽研艱澀少用的句型。
只要能夠將句中的關鍵字正確翻譯出，中譯英就能得到高分。
二、英文作文
這篇作文算是以描寫為主的文章，寫出與誰如何開開心心過一天，很容易發揮，只要具備基本的敘事能力即可得到還不錯的分數。
雖然容易發揮，但內容要有創意就不簡單了。有同學說想要和剛過世的天王麥可傑克遜共度一天，融合時事與自己對音樂的愛好，聽起來別出心裁。但是要注意，如果這美好的一天聽起來實在太過美好而不可能會發生，就必須要使用與現在事實的假設語氣，不知道這算不算是一個小陷阱。
說了一大堆，雖然指考考完了，英語學習不該就此劃下句點。有一句玩笑話，大多數的臺灣人一輩子英文最好的一天就是七月二日(以前大學聯考也是在這一天考英文科)，之後就越來越差。
最近多益考試顯示，高中生平均528分，大學生平均529分，僅僅進步一分，代表高中生上了大學以後，並沒有花太多努力在英語學習上。
一句話，加油！
